Language
Skolexari is a melodic language with a lot of trills and rolling vowels. They have different dialects depending on regions. Have strong x, h, xh, throat sounds (glottal), and rolled r.
All Skolexari speak their native language.
They use “x” to indicate a hard throat sound after the letter.
Have u, y, and ü.
Most Skolexari speak intergalactic standard, a language designed in the SB-5 Pact as a way of communicating and understanding important terms.
Universal translators are commonplace but some view them as a sign of stupidity or laziness. They can be implanted or installed on comm-lines. Skolexari are taught intergalactic standard in school as children and encouraged to learn it and speak it without the use of a device, those who cannot be seen as stupid.
Bark Boxes: collars with translators on them, put on slaves so they can speak Skolexari.
