Rebels, Mafia, Terrorists
Rebels: Are uncommon in Skolexari territories, but they do exist. They oppose Skolexari rule. These insurgents aim to liberate all species under Skolexari control and advocate for equality among sentient lifeforms. They operate from off-world strongholds and maintain undercover agents throughout Skolexari territories. So far, they have been almost completely unable to land any meaningful blows on the Empire, yet they never stop trying. The military calls them “the poke and prod” because the rebels tend to pull off small strikes on distant colonies, always poking and prodding but not doing any real harm. Sympathy for rebels is generally low among the Skolexari population, culturally they dislike rogues and rebels, favoring traditionalist and those who uphold culture, clan.
Kadiku: A Skolexari terrorist organization. They go by several different names, but usually the Kadiku. They want to overthrow the Skolexari royalty and instill a democracy (so they say). Most Skolexari do not want this; it’s an alien concept to them. Kadiku have carried out a few terrorist strikes on buildings and cities on the Skolexari homeworld and on some colonies. They are the group mercilessly hunted by the Xan’dorith.
Kadiku operates like a mafia or gangsters but remain clan based as Skolexari are. They have several different branches, names, and groups but all of them follow the same basic principles and operation style. They can be very dangerous, and their motives are often obscure, dark, or subversive. Famous for black cradle marks.
Kadiku & Black Marks: Black cradle marks have been made even more infamous by the Kadiku Clan, who created the Kadiku mafia. This now covers any Skolexari part of the Kadiku network, no matter if they're clan blood or not. However, the Kadiku Clan still makes up the core of the mafia, living in secret and operating under alias'. Every single member of this clan has a black cradle mark and since they live in shadowed networks using fake names, it creates distrust that anyone with a black mark could be Kadiku.
Ber: The name used to describe the head or leader of the Kadiku mafia. This Skolexari changes generationally but maintains the same alias.
Okti'nak: Mountain Okti'nak are considered rebels by most Skolexari. They're Skolexari native to the cloud-range territory who live in the mountains. Even after thousands of years, they still refuse to join the unified Skolexari world and maintain their own culture and language. They kill (most) anyone who comes into the mountains, hate the military, royalty, and loyalists. Xan'dorith go into the mountains to kill offenders. Okti'nak are skilled warriors and dangerous, especially on their home range. Flatland and Kinzhal Okti’nak are loyalists. See information on Okti’nak for more information.
