New Year
The Largest Skolexari celebration, observed across all colonies and synchronized with the homeworld’s solar cycle (so, they celebrate the Skolexari homeworld's new year). Skolexari celebrate with close kin and dear friends, cook traditional food and favorite family dishes, exchange gifts, and spend time together.

Birthdays
Commonly celebrated, but Skolexari do not exchange gifts.
On birthdays Skolexari go to their parents and honor them with traditional cooking, spending time together, re-telling favorite family stories, expressing gratitude for the devotion their parents gave to them in order to raise them. The birthday is about one’s parents, not oneself. If family is strained, birthdays are ignored as a snub or signal of dislike, which can be hurtful. Nieces, nephews, or other younger family members may visit and celebrate their elder member's birthday to show devotion.

Hoxska’dx
Once every 5 years.
Militaristic holiday commemorating the might of the empire. On Hoxska’dx, a planet is ceremonially destroyed, and the footage is broadcast on public screens throughout the day. The event is marked by a recorded speech from a Core Royal, always delivered with the speaker’s identity obscured.
Note: the planet destroyed is a mined-out, dead, or strategically condemned world or moon.

Kss’kss (children’s day)
Parents and older family members spend a special day with young ones in their lives, taking time to reconnect and show love. Children are often given presents on this day or taken somewhere special (for a candy, to the park, to a little family party for them).

Blood Day
Old holiday but still a day of rest for the entire Empire, celebrating their “victory” thousands of years ago over an invading alien force the Skolexari call the Kaharime. They had a long, bloody, catastrophic war against the Kaharime during the R’visiia period of their history. This war nearly crippled their species, but they drove away their foe. Day of reflection, sober day, most businesses are closed.
