Skolexari Military
My images were making the formatting go insane, so, to make it easier to read I took away the images (for now).
General Overview
Skolexari love their military and any presentation of power, strength, control. Culturally, they’re impressed by power and have more respect for other powerful species. Most Skolexari in the military have red cradle marks. The military provides high paying work with good perks, elevated social status. Skolexari government, culture, and tradition holds up its warriors. Wounded are cared for, disabled are protected, respected. Military personnel wear black uniforms with orange details, small metal pins denoting units, ranks, mission types, and specializations (such as extractions or off-world operations). The military is massive, advanced, disciplined. Skolexari military employs precision strikes, biological weaponry, forced terraforming, and mass neural disruption as common strategies.
Common Colors -
Orange and black, black and orange, green.
Known for -
Brutal retaliatory strikes when "wronged".
Use many electric and magnetic based weapons because they're tolerant of these or immune.
High-tech armor.
Gem technology (bullets, ship casings, swords, weapons).
Generally dislike cybernetics and use nanotech minimally (usually in defense against other tech-heavy species and in some religious groups).
Hate droids, robots, cyborgs, augments (go out of their way to destroy them).
Joining the Military -
Skolexari of legal adult age may join the military.
Joining the military means = reporting for active duty.
Skolexari enter military training programs and military academies as children for specialized training and military careers but they don’t become active-duty until they’re of legal age.
Skolexari accept SB-5 Pact members and Star-Seeds into their military if they’re able to complete the same training and requirements of a Skolexari. Meaning they must meet the same professional standards for whichever position they enter.
Retirement is expected in older years. Depending on the job in the military, retirement age varies.

Alert for Absolute Assistance -
AAA is a widespread Skolexari cry for help. It calls on any military and allies within a certain distance to respond and join in immediate combat, including civilians with military-grade ships. Skolexari have a strong unity and will rally to a cry for help. AAA is very rare in modern times but is ingrained in Skolexari history and popular media. This would be used if a Colony was attacked by aliens.

Chosen Death -
Skolexari engage with enemies using different weapons and tactics. They use rigorous standard doctrine for logistics and unit coordination, but reject one-size-fits-all campaign strategies. “Chosen Death” is the custom operational plan designed for each enemy. Skolexari love to assess their foes. They don't have one method, but many. Calculating and practical, they assess enemies and create unique plans for each foe which they call Chosen Death.

Weapons Sales, Civilian Sales -
Skolexari will sell their ships and other military equipment to Star-Seeds and SB-5 Pack allies without any issue. They offer training with sales, so buyers understand how to operate it. All sales are documented and regulated.
Purchase of some Skolexari ships or high end weapons require an oath of service to the Skolexari military, that the buyer will respond to an AAA if one is issued.
Skolexari sells retired ships to civilians, often stripped of dangerous weapons.

Reborn Warriors (New Age Warrior, traditional warrior, Reborn warrior) -
A new philosophy among Skolexari warriors (developed in the last 100 years) wanting to return to their roots by learning ancient hand-to-hand ground combat techniques, the ways of ancient times. These warriors learn to fight with gem-blades, a traditional Skolexari sword, wear modern armor, and avoid using weapons like plasma guns. High degree of skill. Believe in a connection with combat, fighting, and taking life. Seek to reconnect with the meaning of being a warrior and to find a deeper meaning in war, combat. Believing the engagement with their foe makes them real, instead of using long range weaponry or pressing buttons inside a ship in space.

Discovery of aliens, treatment of aliens. Alien being a non Star-Seed ~
Unprotected, weaker non-Star-Seed civilizations encountered during Skolexari expansion are normally conquered, displaced, enslaved, or eradicated. Strategic equals and recognized allies are exceptions.

Forming Alliances + Reputation of Skolexari as friends and allies
*this info works with SB-5 Pact
World Note: The tone of Skolexari is that they are ‘a big scary alien superpower’ so all of their alliances should revolve around the feeling that they are a force to be reckoned with. It’s not a Star Trek vibe. Just because they attempt alliances and are willing to talk before war does not make them simpering, Skolexari love to fight and it’s their nature to fight. They don’t tolerate endlessly. They will try but when they’re done - look out. Their mentality is never “ohhh no I’m scared” but “well, fuck it, guess we’ll fight”. Skolexari don’t want to hurt Star-Seeds but they will, especially if they’re attacked.
Skolexari are juggernauts known for brutal tactics and aggression. They have conquered numerous star systems within their galaxy with calculated precision, guided by ideology rooted in superiority with a strong drive to fight. However, they do have allies. They display the same fierce clan-like loyalty towards friends in their SB-5 Pact and take these bonds seriously.
Never tricksters nor known for deception, they're blunt and forthright. If they give you their word, they keep it. If you call for their aid, they come. Difficult as they may be, they make fantastic and loyal allies once the bond is forged.
Traits as allies -
Blunt, forthright, keep promises.
Negative traits -
Retaliatory, stubborn, may come off as rude.
Exploitable traits -
Due to beliefs in clan and species unity, they may be manipulated and baited into retaliatory attacks in conflicts.
Need to protect Star-Seeds is predictable.
Seek revenge if wronged, again, predictable.
Your Friend is my friend -
Skolexari may respect prior alliances even if it is with an alien (non Star-Seed) such as bringing a Star-Seed species into the SB-5 Pact whose planet has more than one native species.
Or, a new alien superpower is brought into the SB-5 Pact who has alliances, these prior alliances now become Skolexari alliances regardless of the aliens appearance (star-seed or not, Skolexari won’t request the ally to forgo prior promises or alliances).
This is gone over more in SB-5 Pact.
Military Organization & Branches
The Skolexari Military Forces has three different branches.
Juldyzdar - stars / outer branch. Military that deals with off-world threats, colonization, expansion.
Jer - ground / home or inner branch. Military that deals with on-world threats, protecting colonies and citizens (domestic).
Ekijaqty-Sila - Dual-battle. Military that deals with specific groups which impact stars and home (smallest branch).

Ekijaqty-Sila
Xan’dorith ("Those Who Unmake"): Elite military unit part of Ekijaqty-Sila branch. Tasked with eliminating rebels and other “problem persons” or groups. They primarily handle threats involving other Skolexari. Represent the best of the best, are highly respected.
Xan’dorith units have exceptions that other military units and branches don’t replicate. Xan’dorith units are formed by young soldiers or young military members often still within the academy, school, or early training. A Xan’dorith unit has 5-8 members. The members train together and remain together until they retire. The group is encouraged to remain in-tact and often groups are formed by blood-related members, close friends, close families. The belief is that the intensity of the bonds create a dynamic, elite, and dangerous team that is self-supporting.
Xan’dorith fight other Skolexari primarily such as kadiku (mafia and organized crime), Okti’nak (mountain rebels), terrorists, rebels.
Downside ~ Xan’dorith teams often are forced into early retirement after the loss of members because replacing them is difficult and seen as disrupting the team’s dynamic understanding of one another. If 1 member is lost on a larger team, they may be replaced. If 1 member is lost on a smaller team (5) they are almost always put into retirement with honors.
When a Xan’dorith team has been broken and must retire the team is ceremonially dissolved and given honors. If individuals from that team request they may undergo evaluation and may remain in the recommended retirement or train recruits. It is possible, if an individual was young and pushed for it to merge with compatible survivors on another Xan’dorith team who may have lost one member but retrain the majority (a larger team).

Jer
Thexdika - Skolexari born from strict eugenics in the Temple. Born and raised in the Aurum Lexari religion (warrior’s religion). Large for Skolexari standards, 9-11 feet tall. Many non-religious Skolexari consider Thexdika to be psychopaths or sociopaths due to their lack of emotions and covered faces. Highly trained, absolute in devotion to the Skolexari Empire, royals, and their faith. Known for wearing white armor and keeping their faces covered by masks, helms, or metal covers. Under severe circumstances Thexdika have their faces tattooed with nanotechnology to create a permanent “metal mask” over their face at all times or a no-face. Thexdika’s covered faces are disturbing because they cut off normal communication between Skolexari by being able to see glow and facial expression (as Thexdika also are fully covered by armor).
Thexdika guard Skolexari homeworld and colonies, sent throughout the Empire to stand at posts. These posts are usually at historical locations. They’re also sent to Aurum Lexari religious satellite locations throughout the Empire to teach and guard. Thexdika are the personal bodyguards of royals and royal homes.
Domestic Services - Jer branch employs all everyday protective groups for colonies such as police and other emergency services (firefighters, first responders).

Ships
Skolexari ships have:
Hybrid forms
Operate silently
Capable of cloaking
Atmospheric morphing
Skolexari ships look:
Generally solid and matte black.
Orange or forest green in color.
Military ships have odd shapes that look spiky and foreboding.
Skolexari ship classes ~
M-Class | Megaclass. A massive ship or space station, staging point.
Z-Class | Fast, dogfighters, dueling. Usually small.
OU-Class | Ordinary, general use. Most ships fall under this category, medium size,
medium armor, medium weapons.
L-Class | The bulk of military ships are L-Class, a special kind of Skolexari military
ship that aligns with other L-Class ships forming a ring or row around an enemy’s
planet, space station, or ship. L-Class ships create large barriers blocking entry and
exits using both the physical mass of the ship as well as shielding systems and weaponry.
L-Class linked ships can produce simultaneous barrages on planets causing massive
damage and loss of life.

Weapons
Skolexari military employs precision strikes, psychological warfare, biological
weaponry, forced terraforming, and mass neural disruption as common strategies.
Common weaponry (handhelds) -
Plasma guns, plasma rifles, pulse guns.
Ion, plasma, magnetic, and kinetic weaponry.
Gem-weapons - gemblades, gemswords.
Skolexari Gemblades ~ May be written as gemblade, gem-blade
Also called: Gemblade, gemsword, Skolexari sword.
(Pick a name! No. I will not.)
Traditional Skolexari blades made from bright glittering gemstone native to the
Skolexari homeworld but now farmed on several terraformed colonies. Gemblades may
be any color or multi-colored. Nearly unbreakable, the gemstone becomes warm with
body heat.
Reborn warriors carry gemswords and individual warriors may carry gemblades. The
bulk of the Skolexari military is modern and doesn’t use gemswords but many carry a
small blade made of gemstone such as a dagger.
Gemblades are highly sought after by non-Skolexari for their durability and ability to
maintain a sharp edge for an extended period of time. Thought to be unbreakable, few
instances are known of another blade breaking or chipping a Skolexari sword. Beyond
that, these weapons are simply considered beautiful and some may be ageless.
Gemblades may be passed on generationally in clans or a Skolexari warrior has their
own blade made to their specification (size, length, shape of hilt, and color).
Look: Gemblade usually have textured refractive blades but can be polished smooth. They
can be any color or mixes of color. The hilt may also be made from gemstone or precious
metals.
Typical Skolexari Military Armor ~
Standard Armor -
Fitted black tech undersuit with sleek impact armor pieces in orange color. The
Skolexari military is almost uniformly in this gear with slight variations in color and
bulk, regardless of military branch.
Armor variations, capes~
Most Skolexari armor uses fitted tech undersuits or tech cloth with various armor pieces
over it in various colors (orange, black, green). They do not deviate from this. Skolexari
may wear traditional capes which tend to be dark colors with a glistening or glittery
sheen. Skolexari do not wear capes into battle. Skolexari royals may duel other royals
with capes if both choose. Often high-collars are incorporated.
They do use helmets, the images simply lack the helms because I wanted the character’s
faces to show. Helmets are a mix of armor and light-shields.
Skolexari armor shares a standardized construction, silhouette, and black technical
undersuit. Outer armor color varies by branch, order, or ceremonial function.
Full armor, battle armor, full tech suits ~
Used only by certain elite warriors.
Require special training.
Normally are worn by bulkier Skolexari because some of the suits may be heavy
even when made out of advanced and lightweight materials.
Magnetic, Magnetic Pulse, Electrical-Based Weapons & How They Might Impact
Skolexari
Static magnetic fields: little direct effect on their copper-rich bones.
Magnetic projectile or attraction weapons: ineffective against them
unless another magnetic metal is present or as Skolexari soldiers call it a FMUC (a “fuck me up cocktail”).
Rapidly pulsing electromagnetic weapons: could induce currents or heat the metal, causing pain and injury depending on the pattern.
Electrical attacks: their specialized nerves and biology protects them to some extent.
Extreme sustained electromagnetic exposure: could eventually overwhelm their heat regulation.
Skolexari, in this regard, are aware of what hurts them and what does not. Their
armor and other defensive systems protect and counter their natural weaknesses.
This is written as if the Skolexari is caught without armor or other defensive equipment.
